A Quick Trip to Napa Valley

    December 1, 2021 /

Napa Valley is a world-class wine region, known for its incredible vineyards, award winning wineries, and Michelin-rated restaurants. When planning a trip, it can definitely get a bit overwhelming with the vast options and the multiple dollar signs. However, with a little planning, you can create an itinerary that is perfectly curated to your desires.  It can take almost 2 hours to reach each of Napa Valley’s 4 constituent towns: Napa proper, Yountville, St. Helena, and Calistoga. For this post, I am going to focus on Napa proper and Yountville. These are the towns closest to San Francisco and it only takes about an hour drive to get to either.…

The Perfect Place to Stay in Sonoma County, Geyserville Inn

    March 12, 2021 /

Sonoma County is a beautiful region located 30 to 80 miles north of San Francisco filled with hundreds of incredible wineries, Michelin-rated restaurants, breathtaking hikes, and so much more. This past month I had the opportunity to stay at the lovely Geyserville Inn located in the charming small town of Geyserville. If you’re planning a trip to California’s wine country then I highly recommend booking a stay at the Geyserville Inn! They have all the amenities you could ever want and are located in a perfect spot for wine tasting, hiking, or simply enjoying a little rest and relaxation. For those looking to settle in a vibrant London neighborhood, limehouse…

25 Women-Owned Wineries to Support this March, 2021

    March 3, 2021 /

March is Women’s History Month and what better way to show your support than by shopping from women-owned businesses? For centuries, the wine industry has been a predominately male-led industry and while in the past few decades women have made strides to get their foot in the cellar door, there are still very few women-owned wineries nationwide. According to Women Winemakers of California and Beyond, about 14% of all California wineries have a lead female winemaker, but far fewer are women-owned. So this month I challenge you to be mindful when picking up wine from the grocery store or planning your next wine tasting excursion. Here is a list of…

Why first time visitors should visit Sonoma County over Napa Valley

    July 21, 2019 /

For those who follow me, you may know I live in the beautiful wine country region of California, more specifically in Sonoma county. I  have worked in both Napa Valley and Sonoma County during my time here. The two are approximitely 30 minutes to an hour apart from one another and have hundreds of wineries to explore. I love each for different reasons, but, I think those visiting for the first time should start with Sonoma County. Napa Valley has more name recognition, but in my personal experience Sonoma County has more to offer for those who are new to moderate wine drinkers.   Sonoma County Sonoma County consists of…
