If you’re anything like me, then you know the best part about the holidays is the desserts. And thanksgiving is a special holiday centered around gratitude and food, which makes for the perfect duo! I’m sharing with y’all my favorite holiday desert that is both simple and delicious: My dad’s apple pie! It’s almost impossible to mess up and a family favorite, so get ready to impress those hard-to-please relatives with this fabulously easy recipe!

The apples are the most essential part here, so don’t stray from those green Granny Smiths! These apples are best because they’re tart and crisp which is needed to bring out the sweet flavors and keep the apple-like shape. If you find those largely mutated ones just use a couple, but for the smaller ones you’ll probably need at least half a bag!

What you’ll need:

For the crust I like to stick to the traditional Pillsbury ready-to-bake pie crust. Making a crust by hand can be challenging and if you don’t want to take an extra risk, stick to the yummy prepackaged crust. To give it that extra pinteresty look just cut it into long strips and place them in whatever design you’d like. However, if you do want to make your own crust, I’ve attached some recipes from other bloggers on how-to!
